Channel Moves to SaaS Security Through Alert Logic

Alert Logic's Vanguard Partner Program Participation Grows 20 percent

HOUSTON - DECEMBER 13, 2006 - Alert Logic, the only IT network security company leveraging a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform to deliver on-demand protection to mid-sized businesses and service providers, today announced the addition of 15 channel partners to its Vanguard Partner Program. The new partners include VARs and Service Providers based in the US and internationally. Since its inception in the summer of 2006, the Vanguard Partner Program has quickly grown as the SaaS security model - and Alert Logic's leadership in the SaaS security space - have gained acceptance by a wide range of companies.

IT security support costs are expected to grow to $2.13 billion in 2010*. Larger enterprises are more easily able to handle the extra management and technology costs, while mid-sized companies are still faced with the same IT security and compliance requirements as larger companies and need to be able to manage and prove security at the same levels. SaaS security provides the same protection and compliance as traditional hardware and software but without the high installation, maintenance and staffing costs.

For VARs and Service Providers, this fact has led to an increasing demand for SaaS-based security technology and for programs offering new security services to mid-sized companies. To be viable, these services must come with quick, easy implementations and upkeep as well as security technology beyond basic firewalls and anti-malware protection.
