Sr. Product Manager

Alert Logic is looking for an innovative product manager to help us extend our lead in the on-demand network security and compliance market. Our target technology areas include intrusion detection/prevention, vulnerability assessment, security information management, and security event management.

In the Sr. Product Manager role the candidate will own the product lifecycle, from creation of business plans to attainment of product revenue and market share goals. The Sr. Product Manager is responsible for definition of product requirements and strategy, and for the following:

Definition of product positioning, packaging and pricing
Identifying and quantifying market opportunities, prioritized relative to other potential opportunities
Convincing executive management by building and presenting a sound business case including financial justification for pursuing the opportunity
Understanding the needs of target customers and translating those needs into technical product requirements that provide clear, concise and prioritized direction to the Product Development team
Knowing the technical features and functions of the delivered products and working with Marketing peers to communicate their benefits and value to sales personnel and customers
Comfortable and compelling in specialty speaking engagements including user conferences, trade shows and industry events
Clear understanding of the sales process and be able to help account managers close deals when it is critical that the product owner be involved
Must know how competitive products are positioned and be able to communicate the superior value of Alert Logic solutions

Required Skills

Minimum 3 years product management/marketing or sales engineering experience
Minimum 5 years software/technology industry experience
Excellent verbal/written communication skills and presentation skills
Solid technical expertise and ability to dissect security product strengths/weaknesses
Information Security Industry knowledge and awareness, CISSP is preferred
Technical knowledge of networking architectures
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and understand how they impact the security management market
BS in Engineering or Computer Science; or BA in Business, Marketing, or Economics
MBA is highly preferred
Expect about 20% travel
