Network Security Analyst

Alert Logic is a leading provider of on-demand compliance and security solutions for mid-sized organizations. Our on-demand platform utilizes software-as-a-service (SaaS) to provide our customers with the easiest way to secure their networks and comply with policies and regulations.

We are looking for a Network Security Analyst (NSA) to join our Houston office. The Network Security Analyst works in the 24x7x365 Global Security Operations Center, and is responsible for network security monitoring using various intrusion detection systems, firewall log monitoring, traffic analysis and event management systems. The NSA collects, analyzes, investigates and escalates security incidents to customers. The NSA is required to provide outstanding customer service at all times. This position does require the analyst to work some days and evening weekend shift.

Primary Responsibilities

Monitor global NIDs, firewall and log correlation tools for potential threats
Initiate escalation procedure to counteract potential threats/vulnerabilities
Develop incident and mitigation documentation
Provide research and logistical support
Document and conform to processes related to security monitoring
Provide performance metrics as necessary
Deliver customer service that exceeds our customers' expectations

Required Skills

Minimum 1 year experience with network intrusion detection
Familiarity working with Cisco switches, routers and PIX
Strong command of Linux systems administration
Experience with Cisco PIX, Iptables, PF, tcpdump, ethereal and other TCP/IP stream tools
Strong understanding of TCP/IP
Penetration testing experience preferred
Strong time management skills and attention to detail

Educational/Professional Requirements

GCIA certification preferred - must obtain within 6 months of hire
